EVEN today, after all the accolades and success that have come her way, she believes that "being a woman one has to work doubly hard to prove oneself. I believed in myself and did just that," remarks, actor, poet and activist SARAH JONES. Back in India with her new production, which explores the degree of marginalisation, Jones said that she discovered her true medium when she discovered the performing arts. "Though I never went to drama school I became sure of the profession I wanted to pursue." While her performances touch upon the many political issues that she is concerned with, Jones' pet subject is women. "Being a black woman in the United States is not easy, "That's also one of the reasons I took up this challenge to raise issues surrounding women. I want people to see them as individuals not as sex objects."
