Vani on dance

DANCE and business may not be the best of companions. But for Bharathanatyam dancer, VANI GANAPATHY, there is no contradiction in the two professions she has chosen to follow. "Sometimes I am amazed at my own levels of energy," said Ganapathy, referring to her tight schedules.

With dance performances, a dance school that she runs and a successful interiors business, which is spread out over two or three urban centres, Ganapthy finds that the increased need for work "came with time".

And though dance will always be her first love, she would never consider dancing in films. "I think I'm too old for that. But at the same time there is no difference between a classical performance or that in a Hindi film — in the end it's all about dance and nothing else matters."
