OUR STREETS are witness to an array of entertainment, we have the snake charmers, mobile vendors and even street theatre but Estelle, the manufacturers of fashion jewellery are the first to have a street fashion show.

On Friday evening, just outside their showroom on Road No. 1, Estelle had models, music and a select audience to launch their mid summer range aptly called Radiance. This collection consists of delicate necklaces, bracelets and earrings made in yellow and white with gold, silver or rhodium plating set with tiny crystals.

The show began with the sari worn differently to blend with the untraditional yet attractive formal jewellery. Next was showcased party wear and finally "funky" jewellery that make a street statement and can be worn by young and old.

STREET SMART: Everyone is all eyes at the show.

Estelle, the prestigious brand of Normak Fashions (P) Ltd are pioneers in the concept of fashion jewellery. Through their foreign collaborator, M/S Normark Fashions Inc. Canada, a continual technology and design creativity transfer ensures international quality and finish.

Normak Fashions is also a major exporter of fashion jewellery to North America and Europe and is the vendor for leading Western brands such as Givenchy, 1928, Jones New York and others.

In India, Estelle is available through 27 exclusive showrooms and over 100 outlets. Managing Director Gusti J Noria said, "Our brand embodies elegance and excitement and we will bring many more such events nationally that is aimed at accessibility and affordability for our consumers."

Conceptualised and conducted by Alyque Padamsee, the show began with the sound of traffic as a backdrop, which seemed to blend with the casual and comfortable ambience. "Just like Picasso and M.F.Hussain create art on a canvas, Estelle creates art on the woman, adorning a woman's neck, wrists and ears," Padamsee commented. "Fashion jewellery is not confined to the woman alone but is unisex with leading stars like Tom Cruise sporting an earring. Estelle and elegance go together and I call it Estellelegance."

Estelle will be launching a Deepawali collection, Christmas collection etc and also adding waist belts to their existing range. Never underestimate the potential of being street-smart!
