Slapstick comedy

`Thappu Chesi Pappukoodu', a Mohan Babu, Srikanth and Gracy Singh starrer marks the return of director Kodanda Rami Reddy .

REASON TO SMILE: Mohan Babu, Gracy Singh and Srikanth.

MOHAN BABU'S latest venture, Thappu Chesi Pappukoodu made under his home banner Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, is a remake of the Malayalam hit, Kakka Kuyil.Srikanth, is acting with Mohan Babu for the first time and this is Gracy Singh's second Telugu release. The film also marks the return of veteran director A. Kodanda Rami Reddy.Mohan Babu says that the original version's director Priyadarshan had suggested to him to rope in an experienced director to handle this remake. And when he said that he had taken Reddy, Priyan expressed happiness. "It is my first full-length comedy film. As the title suggests, Thappu Chesi Pappukoodu, is a slapstick comedy," says Mohan Babu.

"Sujatha was my heroine in the film, Sujatha," recalls Mohan Babu. And here she plays a foster mother for the same lead man.

Taking to playback singing has become a vogue for our heroes. Latest to join the bandwagon is Mohan Babu. He had rendered a song with Chitra, which according to music director M.M. Keeravani, is a highlight in the movie. "He sang like a seasoned singer," he says. The film is slated for release on May 22.
