THOUGH THE underlying theme of most of the songs is Onam, there is a deliberate attempt to turn this into something for allseasons. A memory of those sunny, happy, festive days, recollected during pensive or tranquil moments is the common thread that binds the ten songs, penned by S. Ramesan Nair.
There is a marked strain in the opening number `Onathumbikkal_' by K.J.Yesudas. Yet this one, along with `Omale Nin_' is the best in this album.
What makes Vidyadharan special is his ability to impart a folksy, invigorating mood to his tunes.
Though the songs in this album do not come close to his earlier albums, they are not the run-on-the-mill festival songs that one usually gets to hear. Sujatha, Vijay Yesudas and newcomer Divya provide the variety. Sujatha's `Seethapakshikku_' is another song that is bound to grow on you. A good buy.
