A rare honour
SHE IS a descendant of one of Saint Tyagaraja's disciple and music is in her genes. Revathy Krishna, who plays the veena, has made a name for herself in the Carnatic arena.
Now, she has been invited by the Asian Pacific Cultural Festival committee to participate at their Asian Month cultural fest.
The fete is to be held at the Japanese city of Fukuoka in September, this year. She is the only artiste representing India, to participate in the international festival.
The artiste, whose veena versions of Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan and A R Rahman hit songs have won her much acclaim, plans to include some Japanese songs in her repertoire, along with classic Carnatic numbers.
