Cultural show
THE RENAISSANCE Artists and Writers Association (RAWA) is a cultural wing of Ananda Marga founded by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar to bring about renaissance in all spheres of human existence by promoting art, music and literature. It has been actively engaged in mobilising artistes and writers from all over the world through music concerts and art shows. It also provides a platform for young musicians to display their talent.
RAWA is organising a symposium-cum-cultural evening based on "Prabhat Samgiit", composed and set to tunes by P. R. Sarkar, on September 7, at 6 p.m. at Kalaivanar Arangam. The songs covering a wide variety of themes such as devotion, mysticism, Nature, social awareness and neo-humanism, stand out for their lyrical excellence, melodic beauty, rhythmic verve and originality of expression.
The programme will begin with invocation dances by Karthiyayini Srinivas and Aiswarya Chakravarthi. Justice S. Mohan will inaugurate the function.
On this occasion, noted violinist Lalgudi G. Jayaraman will be felicitated for his contribution in the field of instrumental music. O. S. Arun, Lakshmi Rangarajan and Acharya Priya Shivananda Avadhuta (RAWA singer) will render Prabhat Samgiit. This will be followed by a dance drama, "Path-`O' Pathik", scripted by Acharya Haratmananda Avadhuta and choreographed by Krishna Kumari Narendran. Staged by Abinaya Natyalaya, the dance drama depicts the eternal struggle of good and bad.
