Chiranjeevi's land woes
IT IS not just Venkaiah Naidu of the BJP who is being questioned about his land holdings in Andhra Pradesh these days. Chiranjeevi is facing a similar accusation according to current buzz.
After being in the news for quite some time for all the right reasons, the numero uno actor he is now faced with an allegation by an English daily (it's the same daily that reprimanded the actor earlier, for not turning up at a blind school as promised) of encroaching on 1,500 sq yards (25,000 per yard) of land adjacent to his property in the posh Jubilee Hills area.
This time, the daily is supposed to have given survey numbers along with quotes from Municipal Corporation officials to substantiate the allegation.
However, Chiranjeevi's Man-Friday Allu Arvind says, "We have not done anything wrong." He even added that he would surrender the land if proved guilty.
If Chiranjeevi is at all serious about his entry into politics, he will have to successfully counter the allegation.
