IN REACTION to grandeur, to excessive ornamentation, to fashion of the gone season... the focus is on heritage, classics distinguished by a spirit of modernity and a new notion of rigor. Delve into a sense of the past; relive a picturesque, playful, floral vision.
Hi, blooming dale! Prints are calling! A call declaring "I am not a girl, not yet a woman." Style charts indicate a high summer silhouette with macro, high-energy florals thrown across a pure, perfectly simple line.
The colour story hints towards an association of brights like yellow and apple green with dark green and masses of white. Along with carnation, gerbera, daisy, petunia, and tulip, the rose rules supreme with a look of mechanically traced flowers with radiating blurred lines as contours. The story revolves around flowers resembling a modern herbarium, dazzling colours, diverse shapes and organised rhythms.
A new vision of feminity is flagged under the sign of geometry. Optical and geometric interpretations of floral motifs are topping the blue print for this summer. A chic, sober travel wear style inspired by geo-floral concepts uses white to create an element of interest when alternated with orange and titanium grey. White is the season colour. Spikes, stripes, interlocking squares, vintage polka, 30's labyrinth, hoopla and ellipse form a part of this story.
Treasures of the past are updated to strike a balance between ornamental richness and the faded glory of patina aspects. A sophisticated rustic range of aged baroque (big size) motifs leads to a perfect summer setting. Pounded harmonies of rose wood and crimson talk of pure alveolations in rustic rendering.

Fusion of refined and rustic elements is achieved by printing over lace (with raw cut edges) to arrive at a contemporary urban line. Printed lace tanks and lace insets sit pretty under the fashion tree in harmonies of coppery browns and putty tones.
This season a breath of freedom blows over the woman's wardrobe indicating natural, nonchalant easy wear. Prints are souvenirs of holidays in the countryside. The morning glory indicates small florals, closely spaced liberty print in a colourama of wheat and barley punctuated with slate grey.
Prints also indicate a mish-mash of colours, chaos of beams that revitalise the plain cream base.
Ideas indicate attempts to begin writing, scribbles, doodles, radiated landscape of bared branches ... all form a part of this summer setting. Ebony, scarlet, slate and frost constitute the colour story. Print concepts echo vibration, rhythm, movement and speed. Orthonormal network of motifs - small motifs graduating into big size towards one part of the garment, vibrating lines going from thick to thin and dark to light, petals flowing from big to small indicating speed and distance... all sit right under the style canopy.

Free style fusion of the bohemian and folklore leads to a print story all freshened with colour and simplicity. The "paisley" sees a comeback making the Indian ticket scale high. Block print concepts, stencilled ethnic and classic motifs are a high this summer.
All over print concepts fade as customised print placements top the style charts. Asymmetric print placements on any item of clothing are taking a leap up the fashion tree. Also, do not let the print overpower.
Team solid bottoms with a printed top or balance the asymmetric effect by opting for the print idea on the reverse side of what exists on the top.
While putting a garment together have an eye to mix four to five patterns together to create a truly electric look. Think of panels and two-piece sleeves to transform this idea into reality.
Attractive composition of shapes and colours, Venetian mosaic or chiaroscuro effects, this summer talks of a travel through time and historical references teamed with print, motif ideas that yield modern exuberance and free expression of urban poetry.
