Quizzing for a cause
TIME FOR the city's quizzies to get excited. The CRY FACT quiz is back in town. This time it's to be held at Vani Mahal on G.N. Chetty Road on April 28 and is to be hosted by the king of quizmasters, Derek O'Brien.
The FACT — Free A Child Today corporate quiz is a fundraiser held in Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata and is one of the more competitive general knowledge quizzes around. This is the third time the quiz is coming to Chennai. Last year's FACT had 16 teams from Chennai and CRY expects more corporates to turn out this year help make a difference in a child's life.
Each team of two has to pay a registration fee of Rs. 8,000 (which is 50 per cent tax exempt) and the money goes towards taking care of the education, health and maintenance of a child. The winners of the regional rounds will go on to the finals to be held in Delhi on May 10.
