Hotel Green Park has taken the gourmets of the city for a savouring trip down the Great Wall, through a Chinese food festival that concluded on Sunday. To create an ethnic ambience the hotel's Chinese restaurant `Memories of China' was decked up with dragons, laughing Buddhas and Chinese scripts.
The culinary journey used to begin at 7.30 pm. every evening from June 1 with a variety of soups like hunani sweet and sour and Szechwan hot and spicy, complimented with flavoured rice and noodles.
The main course was a sumptuous spread of buffet comprising both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes like honey glazed pork ribs, sesame roast chicken, double fried lamb, sliced fish mandarin style, fresh prawn with bamboo shoots, shredded lamb in hot garlic sauce, sour vegetables, Chinese cabbage in oyster sauce and golden fried vegetable wantons. The desert comprised of ethnic Chinese dishes like date pancake, apple toffee and honey glazed noodles.
To make the journey memorable a live band playing foot tapping old and new melodies was in attendance every evening.
