Pure, perfect, platinum

BORED OF gold but still looking for something pure, rare and eternal in your charms? Give platinum a chance. If Platinum Guild International - PGI - is to be believed, then platinum is the only jewellery that is available 95 per cent pure against 91.6 per cent for 22-carat gold making it ideal setting for stones and reflecting their true colour. Also, platinum's density and weight make it more durable than other metals. There are less chances of loss of weight, wear and tear.

However, if factual stuff rhymes with rational bluff for you, Vaishali Banerjee, Country Manager for PGI, has some emotional reasoning to offer as well.

"The essence of platinum is inner strength. Something that might well describe the `platinum woman'." What's that? New name for woman of substance! "Confident and a strong woman who knows her mind and has plenty of opinions," she explains the obvious. There were plenty of such exhibiting much more than the rare metal at the ramp show that followed the press briefing this past week.

Back to the facts, Vaishali informs, "in the last three years, we have grown from 12 to 150 outlets and is currently present in 32 cities".

Ready to boast of having the eternal white element in your vanity kit?
