Cool kurtis

Kurtis at Sarang boutique are available in different fabrics and designs
|
THE FLOOD of kurtis continues... it is atop the style charts... it figures in almost everyone's wardrobe - man or woman. The kurti is multi-functional - it can be teamed up with trousers or salwar. Wear it with dupatta or have a stole casually strewn over and you have a chic look about you.
This garment has captured the attention of all designers and it is the hip one today. Rekha Lahoti of Sarang (469, Road no. 10, Banjara Hills) has ventured into kurtis on public demand. She designs them in tussar, georgette, Bhagalpur pashmina and organza. Most of them are priced from Rs. 500 to Rs. 800.
The tussar kurtis have gold prints - floral and abstract, while the pashmina has motifs of mokaish all over. The lehariya georgette ones are plain and touched up with a bit of mokaish around the sleeves and neck. Some of them have layered sleeves. The organza one is slightly long but it has an interesting jute thread woven into the fabric and the panels have small antique sequin flowers stitched on it. Crushed bandhini too can be used for making kurtis.
Rekha stocks a few kurti materials with stoles and dupattas. In crepes with prints, they can be stitched as trousers/salwars and short kurtis and long kameez. These materials are priced from Rs. 2000 and above. On purchase of material, one can get the kurtis stitched from Sarang boutique itself.
