What is the secret behind your phenomenal success?
Hard work. I believe cinema is a director's medium and prefer to be a director's actor. I owe my success to my directors who could make a guy with my looks acceptable to the audience.
The trade says you are the real superstar of the year...
Please do not brand me as a superstar. It is the characters that I did like Vinod of "Kathal Kondein" and Vasu of "Thiruda Thirudi" that worked with the audience. I don't deserve all this attention. I am trying to become a star and how can you compare me with my seniors who have been there for a longer period.
How do you choose your roles?
I hear the entire script and my character before signing films. I have to be convinced about the role. I want to be known as an entertainer and do all sorts of roles.
You have surprised the trade by signing half a dozen projects?
Don't forget that I am just three films old. But I promise to be different with every film and see that I am not typecast. Right now, I am doing a Balu Mahendraa film, which will be different from the run-of-the-mill ones.
