Glitz 6 is the new store in town for imported crystal and glassware

WITH THE New Year celebrations still fresh in the air, this is the ideal time for exchanging goodies and gifts. And if you haven't bought those presents for friends and loved ones yet, here is a new shop offering affordable options, apart from expensive collectibles, in glass and crystal ware--stemware, photo frames, vases and more.
Glitz 6 (Shop#11, Model House, Punjagutta, Tel: 55252279, 98483-09292) is an exclusive retail outlet for some of the noted crystal and glassware brands such as RCR (Royal Crystal Rock) from Italy and German Waltherglas. "We found that people often pick up their crystal and glassware when they go abroad. Therefore we decided to bring products from several noted international brands and which are affordably priced," says G.V.Rama Rao, proprietor Glitz 6. "While here you can buy a crystal ring holder for Rs. 250, a photo frame for Rs. 435 or a 95-piece dinner set for 12 for Rs.9, 000," he adds.
Crystals are in vogue, with handcrafted figurines and opulent dinner sets having equal number of takers. For classy crystal ware, choose from the RCR collection here. Priced between Rs. 500 and Rs. 5,000, the collection brings fruit bowls, decanters, candle sands, dinner sets and trays made in 24 per cent lead crystal. A set of six RCR glasses comes for about Rs. 500. On the higher end are the hand polished crystal vases priced at Rs.10, 000. And if you are looking at adding that extra colour to your living room, hand moulded and painted glass vases from Waltherglas are ones to look for. Other options from Waltherglas include colourful trays and bowls coming in different sizes. For more of the utility stuff, choose from the Luminare collection of kitchen and ovenware from France, comprising jugs, salt and pepper shakers, dinner sets, tea and coffee sets and casseroles, priced from Rs. 250 to Rs. 9,000. And for those brandy goblets and champagne flutes for the spirits, Ocean, glassware from Thailand, has quite a few options in stemware as well as economic glass sets, tumblers, bowls and more. You can pick a set of six glasses for Rs.200, for instance.
