Bringing up baby
FROM POWDER puffs to innovative gadgets, the range of products for new borns is meticulously chosen and displayed in Witco's Kidzone, where a fortnight-long "Baby care exhibition 2004" is being organised.
Witco, the name you usually associate with travel paraphernalia has now come up with a unique concept, "Kidzone" in its outlets at Adyar, Anna Nagar, Mylapore and T. Nagar. According to V. P. Harris, managing director, Witco India Private Limited, the exhibition is an effort to make Kidzone a lovable place for kids and parents. "This could be the ultimate shopping experience for products relating to kids."
Apart from familiar branded baby care products, there is also the relatively new range of electrical appliances such as bottle steriliser (Rs.2900), sterilising pack that can be used in microwave, four in one bottle (feeder/sipper/spout/training cup) and colourful designer cot sheets (perfumed and washable) that can make bringing up baby a pleasurable experience.
Dustbins in subtle palettes, bath mugs with specially-designed handles and feeding bottles that are bigger than the usual sizes are major attractions.
The exhibition also displays carry cots, baby cots, prams, walkers, jhoolas, cycles, rocking chairs, high chairs, rocking horses, cradles and innovatively designed potties. Also featured are clothes for infants and toys for children. Most of the items have been sourced from China. Shoppers can also avail themselves of discounts.
