Hot `combo'

Oceano, a newly opened restaurant in the city, offers bamboo fried rice.

OCEANO, THE new restaurant in town, on the Bakery Junction-Vazhuthacaud Road, offers Indian, Chinese and Continental food. Though the ambience is nothing to write home about, the food is good and priced reasonably.
Seafood is available only for namesake, though the name of the eatery suggests otherwise.
The main dishes on the menu include Hyderabadi biryanis, noodles, fried rice, parotta, roti and naan. Gourmands have a wide range of biryanis to choose from. The Bamboo Fried Rice is one of the specialties of Oceano. Bamboo shoots form the main ingredient along with chicken, prawn, mutton and vegetables.
Another dish worth mentioning is Crispy Chicken in Honey Chilli, which is chicken julienne stir-fried and topped with pure honey. "When pure honey is not available, we don't serve this dish. There is no replacement for honey in this dish and we don't compromise on quality," says Prasad, manager, Oceano.
A perfect accompaniment for noodles and fried rice is Chicken/Beef Chow Chow. The gravy is white in colour and is neither spicy nor sweet.
Most of the regular customers at Oceano are the staff working at the offices nearby. The `Combo' lunch, a hot favourite among the clients, has a combination of chicken noodles (vegetable noodles for the veggies), fried rice, ginger chicken (ginger vegetable) and gobi manchurian. The non-veg `Combo' is priced at Rs. 50 and veg `Combo' at Rs. 40. A cool deal indeed! Vegetable and meals with fish curry are also available for lunch.
The pizzas and burgers are also good. You can choose from a wide array of ice creams too. If you prefer a beverage instead, you could sip a cup of tea, coffee, lemon tea or cappuccino.
If you are keen to have your ice cream at a parlour, you could head straight to the ice cream cum juice parlour at Oceano.
A roof top garden for birthday bashes and office get-togethers is also on the anvil.
