Sweet temptations
BAGUETTE IS the new pastry shop at The Imperial. Another in New Delhi's list of decadent temptations. The French baguette is recommended and they even have brown walnut bread if you are looking for something a little different. Chef Bruno Cerdan and his bakery team are also into making doughnuts, croissants, muffins and French hearts. If you are looking for something sweeter, check out the meringues, perfectly light creations, made with egg white and castor sugar.
There is a choice of gateaux as well - apricot, black forest, fresh fruit and more. In case you like the idea of a sugar-salt taste mix, opt for the chocolate croissant, an item not easily available in Delhi. As for chocolates, they are available in abundance - truffle, praline, caramel and white chocolates.
There is nothing like a good pastry as you can go for an assortment - apple tart, black forest, éclair, fresh strawberry tart, lemon meringue tart, passion fruit delight, coffee opera and even something known as poor man's chocolate! Prices at Baguette range from Rs.20 to 780, so it is possible to pick up stuff even while thinking of budgets or month-end blues. Baguette also has teacakes, biscuits, cookies, macaroons and nougats. Homemade ice creams are soon to be introduced. Also expected are Easter eggs next month.
