Silver for shining homes

ELEGANT HOMES are no longer just for the rich and the famous. In fact, with the mushrooming of stores that offer pretty artefacts, bringing class to sedate homes is not too difficult. One of the stores you can head for, if you are planning a makeover for your home, is E-Studio International on 100 Feet Road, Indira Nagar.

The store, a brainchild of Sonu Mulchandani, has on display some of the most elegant and beautifully carved pieces in sterling silver, crystal, and various other metals. The brand names that E-Studio has brought to India include D'Mart, Marcello Giorgio, Titot, Ottaviani, Giudippe Armani, and Denix.

The range of silverware is impressive, from miniatures like the admiring dolls, small clocks designed as mantelpieces, and candle stands, to larger ones like fruit bowls, lamp shades, vases, picture frames, and centre pieces. A beautifully crafted set of sculptures in bronze, the

African Masai that are up to 2.5-feet in height, are impressive too.

E-Studio guarantees that all the silverware is maintenance-free and has been treated with anti-oxidants to prevent them from turning black. Especially appealing to the traditional Indian tastes are the limited editions of Indian deities by Linea Argenti. Shree Vinayaka, Shree Krishna, Shree Laxmi, and Ganesha Mask in this range come with their own uniquely stamped edition numbers that indicate their originality.

Those who love crystals can pick from a range of handcrafted Cristoph and Orleiv crystals available at E-Studio. Decanters, vases, and glasses are especially pretty, albeit a bit tough on the pocket.

Always working on something new to offer her clients, who she claims are the crème-de-la-crème of Bangalore, Sonu says: "I try to bring in the items in collections. During Diwali, we did a Diwali collection in silverware that can be gifted. Earlier, we did something with animals that covered horses, elephants, dolphins, lionesses with cubs, leopards etc.."

The latest in Sonu's collectibles is one of world famous arms and armours, which she aptly terms Bar Collection. Comprising of an impressive set of replicas of guns, rifles, shields, canons, daggers etc., this collection is a must-have for any owner of a designer bar. Says Sonu: "They are replicas of armour used 600 B.C. onwards." E-Studio also has some corporate gift items and a range of small silverware that makes good gifts. The store can be contacted on 51154791/92.
