CUISINE IS an important facet of the Chettinad culture. And highlighting this aspect is a food festival on at Café Mercara, Chola Sheraton.
Chef Ramesh Javvaji is cooking up some exotic dishes from the Chettinad kitchen for dinner. It's time for sweet and masala chiyam, Karaikudi kara kozhumbu, aachi veetu nandu, kari vathakal, vartha kozhi, Chettinadu meen kozhumbu, puli kathirikai and thalitha paruppu.
The menu changes everyday. The daily spread will include two soups, dal sambhar, chappati, paratha, adai, idiyappam, salads, pickles, thair pachidi, curd, rice, thair vadai and a choice of five desserts.
