Khadi exhibition at Fabindia: Celebrating the spirit of freedom
WITH INDEPENDENCE Day just round the corner, you have every reason to visit Fabindia (Ilford House, 3, Woods Road), where a Khadi Exhibition is on till August 14, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Khadi, the very word brings to mind images of Gandhiji and the Freedom Movement. What better occasion can there be to celebrate the eco-friendly fabric than now? On display is a collection of garments and accessories in khadi.
The uniqueness of the fabric lies in the fact that it is hand-woven using hand spun yarn made from natural fibres. Hand spinning imparts a soft twist to the yarn while the weaving process interlaces it to create a fabric that breathes making khadi comfortable to wear.
