WITH DIWALI, the festival of lights not far off, the launches of designer candles in the city have started. First off the blocks is Bharti Teneja, well-known beautician of Alps fame, who has come up with her fashionable aromatic candles under the brand name La Aroma. Besides being decorative knick-knacks, they fill the room with serene fragrance that is said to help in relaxing.
Made from a blend of medicinal oils like rose, chandan, lavender, etc. these candles, says Bharti, help in treating stress, skin irritation and stomach pain and improve complexion.
A burning candle releases the oil vapours that enter the body during breathing and give a soothing message to the brain. She has also been using these oils in her beauty salons for various beauty therapies. The candles are designed in transparent holders and the oil imparts different brilliant colours. There are around 60 types of candles in terms of design, fragrance and size, ranging from the traditional diya to modernistic shapes. Various design elements have been used like seashells, metals beads and others.
