Australian cricket legend Dennis Lillee is the new brand ambassador of Seafood Club
|
On a new pitch: Dennis Lillee
During his cricketing career, Aussie speedster Dennis Lillee was baiting the best of batsmen with his deliveries. And after retirement, he has been baiting fish. He, however, admits, "Baiting batsmen is easier than baiting fish." Nevertheless, not a day passes without the legend trying to improve his angling skills, for, by his own admission, he has "a strong thing for seafood". And his interest in seafood does not end with catching fish. It extends to endorsing seafood products. He is today "the prize catch" of `Seafood Club', belonging to Seaeyes Systems Ltd.
At a press conference that announced Lillee's newly-acquired status as brand ambassador for this seafood brand, the Aussie lifted the veil over some interesting secrets "When I got married my wife knew next to nothing about cooking." And, for many days and nights (after marriage), he had to preside over the cooking department. "I eventually taught my wife how to cook, but in the process forgot how to cook."
With an almost youthful swagger, Lillee proceeded to put on an apron and a hat, saying, "Believe me, I use this apron back in Australia and I don't want it to get dirty." After the frenzied clicking of cameras had died down, he said that his "love for the ladle" had rubbed on to his son and "he works as a chef."
Lillee parried questions that sought to know "what the contract is worth". Minne Menon of Tech-Eye Consulting quipped, "Lillee has been extremely moderate (about the fee), unlike he used to be on the cricket field."
