Connoisseurs' delight
IT WILL be an exhibition-cum-sale of antiques, natural fibre products and Tanjore paintings on September 17 and 18 at the Vimonisha Art Gallery, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam.
The antiques include Burmese lacquer trays and boxes, Swedish enamel tableware, brass and wooden utility items and furniture. Besides, visitors can choose from an attractive array of natural fibre products such as laundry baskets and boxes, Pattamadai floor, travel and tablemats, garden accessories in terracotta, blinds made from korai grass and dhurries.
Tanjore paintings lend an old world charm to interiors. Srividya Rabindranath, winner of the Government of Karnataka's Kalashekara Award, will exhibit her creations. Her paintings adorn the walls of many offices and homes here and abroad.
The exhibition will be open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
