Chic chikankari on show at Vimonisha Gallery
LUCKNOW'S AGE-OLD tradition of handcrafted chikankari has found contemporary expression through Seja's creations for men and women which will be on display at an exhibition from October 28 to 30 at the Vimonisha Gallery, 12, Khader Nawaz Khan Road.
The master craftspersons have recreated the intricate details of this popular form on stylish outfits. The clothes go well with the festive spirit.
Also available are bridal and trousseau collections that include elaborately embellished lehengas, salwar sets and saris. For the groom, there are coordinated bandgalas, sherwanis and kurtas.
The chikankari range sports a Nawabi look as the designs are inspired by the royal era.
The fabrics used are georgette, chiffon, crepe, tissue, voile, muslin and cotton, while the colours range from pastels to bright tones.
