SUMMER SPICE The lunch buffet on offer Monday to Friday
Dreaming of home cooked food? Then head for La Madeleine, Alwarpet. The Summer Spice Lunch Buffet which is on offer here from Monday to Friday comprises the best of south Indian cuisine, salads and some French delicacies thrown in for good measure. The buffet is priced at Rs. 195 per head, plus taxes.
On Day 1 you can taste peas pulao, vegetable kormah, senai varuthathu, south Indian fish fry and vermicelli sago payasam, and select French dishes such as fricassee de volaille (chicken), choufleur au gratin with ice cream and fruit of the day for dessert.
On Day 2 it is idiyappam vegetable biriyani, idiyappam prawn biriyani, raita, mundhri milagai kuzhambu and kesari halwa. The French dishes are harchi parmentier de la viande (mutton mince), harchi parmentier de legumes (vegetables) and ice cream and fruit of the day.
On Day 3 you can try coconut rice, vatta kuzhambu, mutton pepper chops, peerkangai kootu and phirni. Bouillabaise (seafood), vegetable stuffed capsicum and ice cream plus fruit of the season comprise the French section.
On Day 4 the spread consists of vegetable fried rice, pakoda kormah, pakodas, kheema urundai and carrot halwa. The French dishes include pot au feu (mutton), pot au feu (legumes) and ice cream and fruit.
On Day 5, you can relish ghee rice, drumstick sambar, mutton and drumstick curry, urulaikizhangu kari and special gulab jamun.
The French dishes on the menu are spaghetti bolognaise (mutton mince) tomates farcis a la, provencale (stuffed tomato) rounded off with ice cream and fruit. You can also try any three salads, bread basket, vadams/pappads and chutney.
