It was the attempt at everyday fashion that made the `Spring/Summer collection 2006' of the 20th India Knit Fair (IKF) held recently at Tirupur special.

A streak of casual clothing was the hallmark of the event here 14 models took to the ramp in casuals, fun wear, trendy clothing and beach wear with love and peace as theme.

"We decided to focus on casual wear this time," says Shobha of Chennai-based Viba, choreographers of the show.

On the ramp, which was given a green house ambience, models flaunted creations in pastels, lavender, pink and lemon yellow.

Well-known faces, including this year's Miss Chennai finalists, sashayed to soft, slow music in casuals.

The fashion show at the Knit Fair has always been a platform for young models and this year was no different.

The show saw some innovative presentations too. "Models tangoed to a Moulin Rouge number for the presentation by Vallabh Fabrics from Ludhiana," says Shobha.

Seven exporters from across the country, including BNT Innovations, Dhanams Knit Garments, Majestic Exports, Poppy's, RBR Garments and U. Ram Fashions, showcased their creations at the fashion shows.
