The song that made Rammstein one of the biggest names in metal, this became a cult classic after its inclusion on “The Matrix” soundtrack. The combination of synthesizers, lots of guitars, lots of drums, and an authoritative voice singing in German was irresistible, and the adjectives flew thick and fast: “Wagnerian”, “militant”, “operatic.” One wag even called it “music to invade Poland by,” but even that couldn’t detract from the soaring, industrial sound that Rammstein made their own.
