ON A MUSICAL NOTE At the launch

The venue was Asiana hotel, on the Old Mahabalipuram Road. The audio release of "Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondram Andu" produced by GD Lotus Five Star and Thiru Pictures by `Datho' Rena. Duraisingam and K. Garunamurthee started a little late but made up for the lapse in a big way. Director Thirumurugan set the evening rolling by saying that the songs took shape at Top Slip near Coimbatore. He said, "We finished all the songs in a record time - one day. I used to tell them the situation and music director Vidhya Sagar composed the music while lyricist Vairamuthu penned them." Four songs were shown with visuals to the audience. The singers also spoke in detail about their experiences while recording the songs.

The audio was released by `Ilaiya Thalapathi' Vijay and the first CD was received by `Ilaiya Thilagam' Prabhu. `Sathyajothi' Thiyagarajan, ( who gave the first film to director Thirumurugan) producer Thanu, `Mettioli' Producer Siddiq, heroine Poorna, actor Bharath, Vidyasagar and Vaira muthu spoke.

There are five songs in the film. The first song `Kombu Vitta Kalaienna' is mainly based on rhythm. Thippu has sung the song and Bharath and group have danced to it. The dance master for the song is Bhaskar. This song is bound to be a hit with the younger generation. The second one `Pottakkuruvio' is pure melody, sung by Mahathi and Haricharan. It has been picturised on the lead couple - Bharath and Poorna. The third is `Kattipidikkum Karadiya' is in the form of `Themangu' style tune, which tells how men blame women and vice versa. Malathy Lakshman and Jayamurthy have sung it. The choreography for the song is by Sridhar who has also acted as the lead dancer in it. The fourth song is `Kodanki Vanthirukkein' a song sung by Manikavinayagam and Anuradha Sriram. It is about how the local witch doctor, played by Vadivelu tries to cure the young heroine Poorna, whom he think has been possessed by an evil spirit. The last in the album is a remix number `Imayamalaium' sung by Thippu, Manikavinayagam, Praveen Mani and Jayamurthy.
