Sleep well

Portico launches a new range of allergy free linens

Ever thought of feeling the freshness of mountains or water falls right in your bedroom? Portico, the home furnishing brand, with its ionised bedding boasts to have made it possible. Called bionic application, the technology is used on the fabric to ensure a calm and restful sleep. Rajiv Merchant, CEO, Domestic Business Division, Portico, believes that this is an innovative approach and suits the needs of the upper middle-class, which is health conscious and fashion savvy.

Talking in detail about the technique (produced in technical collaboration with the Intellatex, USA), Subir Ranjan Sen, General Manager, explained, “One feels happy and recharged near the water falls or mountains because of the presence of negative ions, which can be generated by lightening and ocean surfs. These are also called ‘vitamin of air’. We negatively ionise the fabric to vitalise the blood cells. This increases their oxygen holding capacity, improve metabolism and remove fatigue. In addition to that, negative ions are powerful air cleansing agents that trap microscopic allergens (like bacteria, mold, fungus, pollen, dust) and make the sleep irritant free. Allergy is a modern disease caused due to dust mites, pollution and congestion.”

An ionised bed sheet set, produced in technical collaboration with Intellatex, U.S.A, is priced at Rs.1600.
