Journey to nowhere

From nowhere to somewhere I travelled,
No one to support, no one to guide;
Like a free bird I zoomed through space,
Perching on the tall trees which attracted me.

Making friends and learning new things...
But the tree wasn't tall enough!
I continued my search for the tallest tree.
Days, months and years passed by in silence.

My search for the tallest tree still continues.
I made innumerable friends —
But all warned me of wasting my life;
But I kept on searching.

Learning to reach the zenith;
But now my feathers have fallen off,
My body is heavy for my wings,
I no longer can fly high.

I've reached nowhere!
Perching on a short tree all alone,
With no one to help me,
I still dream of reaching the zenith.
