Killing our Planet

An often-heard phrase is " I'll go out for a breath of fresh air". But how many of us realise that this has become irrelevant in today's world, because the quality of air in our cities is anything but fresh.

To reduce air pollution, the industries should make sure that gases released by them are not harmful to the environment. We should make sure that cars have catalytic converter, which removes the lead from the exhaust and we also have to learn to say a big "No" to smoking and burning of materials.

Water is one of the most important resources we have. Despite our dependence on water we use it as a dumping ground and do very little to protect it.

Our way of life is "dirtier" than that of our ancestors. Without taking a step backwards in terms of our standards of living, we must make responsible changes in our daily lives and practices to protect our planet.
