Life in a hostel

From far off places
Here land many cases
Away are parents
Near are friends.
First day one thinks
one whole year
First month one thinks
only one year.
Cleaning, washing,
sweeping
These are our learning.
Laugh and chat in the
dining hall
Till we get a blast and call.
Time passes by in the night
As we chat without a light.
Night makes us fear morning
As we want to keep snoring.
We do lack many facilities
But they compensate
as we have buddies.
We wait for holidays
Reach home and think
of hostel days.
For finally we learn
how to live life.
