In my dreams...
Everyone must imagine and dream a lot in life. I also imagine and dream a lot about India in different facets and roles and how a sustainable India will be.
From Indus valley civilisation to cloning civilisation; from Agni of Vedas to Agni of Abdul Kalam's Wings of Fire, from Valmiki's Ramayana to Arundhathi's God of Small Things, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Cherapunji to Rann of Kutch, I have dreamt a lot about sustainable India.
Sustainable India will not be powered by fossil fuels, but by solar energy in its many direct and indirect forms. Nuclear power will be phased out. Sustainable energy sources will be much more decentralised.
Rivers should be nationalised so that the whole of India is fed by the Ganges. Urbanisation would be reduced and would be replaced by local self-reliance. Wealth should be shared, so that the gap between the rich and the poor would be narrowed.
The economy of sustainable India is measured by its contribution to sustainability rather than to growth.
Population in my Dream India is very controlled. Rainwater should be conserved properly. If these are done properly, India would certainly become a well-developed nation and it would certainly beat the nations that are in the top position.
