A runaway success
It was mid-August. Our computer teacher informed us about the exhibition slated for September 7, 2002. The first thing that crossed our minds was "so many things to do and so little time". But this did not deter us. We immediately set to work. Excitement filled the air as each one of us fumbled with thermocol, chart papers, cutters, glue and what have you. Right from Std. I to XII, we were all engaged in various activities to work for the success of exhibition.
The primary section had made models of a hospital, a school, a railway station and other places where computers could be used. There were charts explaining LOGO the children's programming language.
The high school section had made various models and charts depicting the generations of computers, programming languages, a block diagram of a computer with actual live circuits, models explaining the concept of internet and intranet, robotics, a briefing of various computer languages like Turbo C, BASIC, etc., and a whole lot of other computer concepts.
On September 7 the students and staff welcomed the chief guest, the EDP manager of HCL and the members of the school board. This was followed by a welcome dance by one of the students.
The computer exhibition was well attended as neighbouring school students, parents and other visitors trickled in throughout the day. The numerous game and food stalls that were put up also entertained them. At dusk, an entertainment programme comprising of song, dance and an informative skit relating to the advancement of computer was put up. This was followed by the distribution of prizes awarded to the outstanding exhibits.
All in all, the exhibition was a runaway success.
