Three in one

Niagara Falls is one of the world's most spectacular waterfalls. It separates the U.S. from Canada.

The three falls — American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls — together make the Niagara Falls. The biggest of the three is the Horseshoe Falls and the smallest is the American Falls. The Horseshoe Falls got its name because it is in the shape of a giant horseshoe.

Niagara Falls came into existence when a huge block of ice began melting several hundred years ago.

Many tourists come from all over the world, to see the Falls, especially in summer.

On a sunny day, a beautiful rainbow hangs over the Falls. Some tourists like to float above the Falls in a hot air balloon. This gives them a dazzling view of the Falls.

Some visitors also go with tour guides into the Cave of the Winds. Here, they can view the American Falls at a very close distance.

The Maid of the Mist is a ferry service that takes tourists right up to the Falls, so close that they can feel the spray on their faces!
