A forum for youth

A cultural festival featuring young talents from the Capital this month-end.

New Delhi-based The International Academy of Mohiniattam is organising a two-day music and dance festival featuring young talents from the city next week.

The festival titled, “Udagam”, will be held at the Stein auditorium, India Habitat Centre, on June 29 and 30, 7 p.m. onwards.

The first day will feature a Hindustani vocal recital by Poorva Joshi, a disciple of Sawni Mudgal, besides a performance by Abhisekh Marar, a young Chenda player from the International Kathakali Institute, mohiniattam by Anushree Vinod, a disciple of Deepti Omcheri Bhalla, and Kuchipudi by Hridaya Rao, a disciple of Vanashree Rao.

The next day will begin with an Odissi presentation by Prerana Aggarwal, a disciple of Madhavi Mudgal.

A violin recital by S. Anuradha, a disciple of C.S. Anuroop, will follow it.

The evening will also present a mridangam recital by S.S. Ganesh, a disciple of Jayan P. Das and a Bharatanatyam presentation by Arundhati, a disciple of Geeta Chandran.
