Research in engineering

The Homi Bhabha National Institute (deemed university) has invited applications from engineering postgraduates for admissions to its Ph.D. programmes starting from August 2011.

The students will be admitted to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai; Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam; Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre, Kolkata; Raja Ramanna Centre for advanced Technology, Indore; Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, for research leading to Ph.D. These centres have been in the forefront of research in various branches of engineering viz. mechanical, chemical, metallurgical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, and computers. This Ph.D. programme in engineering science is extremely challenging in view of the expanding nuclear power programme of the Department of Atomic Energy.

Those who secure admission will also be awarded fellowship under DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for pursuing research leading to Ph.D. The amount of fellowship is Rs.24,000 per month.

Duly filled in application along with attested copies of certificates and supporting documents required should be sent to the Administrative Officer, HRDD Training School Complex, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai - 400094 so as to reach the addressee on or before June 30.
