Know your birds

A chart to identify water birds easily.

The Environment Society of India (ESI) brought out an identification guide chart titled "Birds of Ponds and Lakes". The purpose of the chart is to provide a handy guide, to increase interest in knowledge, respect and appreciation of the natural world.

There are 65 pictures of water birds. The chart has been specially prepared for the members of ESI and school Eco Clubs under the National Green Corps (NGC) of the Ministry of Environment and Forests.

The birds featured in this chart include ducks, geese, waders, herons, jacanas, rails, coots, cormorants, flamingos, pelicans, storks, grebes and ibises.
