The grandest of them all

A grandmother to beat all grandmothers, Fatima Khatun, from the district of Chuadanga in western Bangladesh has gone back to school to make up for lost opportunities. She had come to enrol her grandchild in school when the teacher asked her if she could write the prayer she was muttering. Married at the age of seven, Fatima Khatun's district had no school. So today she is the first bencher in class and popular too though her granddaughter gets better marks than her. Hers is a story of inspiration for she has encouraged others like her to join school too.
