BOO BEAR: Way to go.

Boo is a grizzly bear raised in a 22-acre enclosure at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in British Columbia after his mother was shot illegally in 2002. But he has had enough of captivity. His first escape attempt in June came to nought, as he was recaptured after two weeks. But even as the search team thought their work was done, they got news that Boo had broken a 400-pound steel door, trashed an electrical box while going through electric fences and climbed over a 12-foot fence in his bid for freedom. "It was basically like breaking out of Fort Knox," resort spokesman Michael Dalzell told AP. Despite searching for more than 50 hours, searchers have had no luck. Experts are not sure if the bear can look after himself in the wild and may cause a problem in the wild. According to news agency AP, Tracey Henderson of the Grizzly Bear Alliance in Canmore, Alberta, feels that Boo is now in a "lose-lose situation". "The poor guy has now tasted freedom and he is going to be more motivated to keep getting out," she said. "There is a side of me that's saying, `Way to go, Boo', but there is another side of me that's really worried about this bear being in the wild near humans. It's just a sad situation. He is clearly a bear that wants to be free, yet we've created a situation where it's not really safe for him to be free."
