Death wish?

A 20-year-old man on roller blades hitched a ride from a car at breakneck speed in the southern Dutch city of Roermond, touching 80 to 90 kilometres per hour (50-56 mph), police said.

A police spokesman said the ride had been about five kilometres, adding he wasn't sure how the man had managed to hang on to the car at that speed.

Police detained the man for endangering traffic and later found he still needed to serve almost 30 days for an unrelated offence, the spokesman said.

However, the driver of the car he had been trailing was not found.
