Carnivores and marsupials

VIKAS S. KHATRI

Bhutan issued a set of stamps portraying the white and black bear, red panda and the koala. The polar bear, also called the white bear, water bear, sea bear or ice bear, has been protected by an international agreement that allows hunting polar bears by only the local population using traditional weapons. The koala is an arboreal marsupial, has a large round head with large, round and furry ears and a stout body covered with thick ash-gray fur. The black bear is also called the Himalayan bear, Tibetan bear, or moon bear. It raids crops and occasionally attacks domestic animals. The red panda is also called the lesser panda, is reddish brown and smaller than the giant panda.
