IN SURF AT DAWN: For the sake of art.

Most artists just want people to stand in front oftheir work and look. But Andrew Baines wanted more. He wants his models to wade into the surf at dawn, wearing a suit! Baines, 43, wanted all of them to turn up in a black suit, white shirt and a colourful tie. If they didn't have a suit it was fine, they could wear anything black, but they had to be barefoot and hatless and most importantly they had to bring a copy of The Daily Telegraph. Baines formed a "surreal human sculpture" by arranging participants along the waterline. The inspiration for this comes from a childhood revelation on the London Underground at peak hour, where he faced a sea of "corporate battery hens".
