Deadly Teddy

Did you ever think a teddy bear could kill? Well a teddy bear has been accused of killing 2,500 trout. The toy, dropped in a pool at a Fish and Game Department hatchery in Milford, Massachusetts, blocked the drain. This affected the oxygen supply to the pool causing the fish to suffocate. According to supervisor Robert Fawcett, the bear, which wore a raincoat and a hat, was the first toy to cause deaths at the hatchery. Earlier clogging of pipes had been caused by frogs or dead muskrats, which are found in water. Following this incident, Fawcett has put up a warning: "RELEASE OF ANY TEDDY BEARS into the fish hatchery water IS NOT PERMITTED." Officials could not find out who dropped the bear into the pool but warned people to find a worker in case they saw another such incident. "It's kind of a cute little teddy bear and people wouldn't think that a cute little teddy bear would be able to kill fish."
