Terrible lizards

The Republic of Benin in West Africa, formerly known as Dahomey under French rule, issued a set of nine stamps in August 1998 depicting different types of dinosaur. The term dinosaur meaning "terrible lizard" was originally proposed as a formal zoological name in 1841, by the British anatomist Sir Richard Owen to various kinds of large extinct reptiles of the Mesozoic era.
