Yes, he's back, and this time, the 14-year-old criminal mastermind we all know (after four books, we would) and is solving temporal equations that even Foaly, the brilliant centaur technical advisor to the LEP, can't solve. Now, the time spell is deteriorating, and demons keep appearing on earth. It could spell the end of the People if the demons are captured. And that is what Minerva Paradizo, another juvenile criminal mastermind, plans to do. Artemis finally meets his match in the fifth instalment of the series. Though the book is good, it isn't all that great. It lacks something the previous books had.

Meet Moon. Fletcher Moon the 12 year old Private Investigator, who solved his first case at the age of three, graduated the top of his online class and even has his own detective badge. But unfortunately, to the other kids he is just the geeky schoolyard detective nicknamed "Half Moon". Then ten year old April Devereux employs Moon to find out who stole the precious lock of her favourite pop star's hair. There seem to be other unsolved cases and the prime suspects are Red Sharkey and the other members of the notorious Sharkey family. Half Moon Investigations is quite unlike the other books of the best-selling author of Artemis Fowl. Yet this quirky little mystery is hilarious, keeps you amused and guessing till the very end.
