Sowing seeds to save the environment

A massive campaign to preserve the planet.



YOUNG VOICES WITH A MESSAGE: At the environmental fair

ITC Foods unveiled the "Sunfeast Hara Banao Environment Fair" at Gandhi Nagar Playground, Hyderabad for the ongoing Sunfeast Hara Banao campaign. For the third year in succession, this campaign aims at educating children about the growing environmental adversities and how each of them can contribute in saving the environment. This year the campaign has registered over 3,00,000 students from more than 400 schools spread across five cities in the country: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. A massive signature campaign under the "Sow a seed today" programme took place. Over a period of two months, got over 50 lakh people, who pledged to play their part by "Sowing a Seed". Through this, Sunfeast has distributed more than 50 lakh seeds as part of the Hara Banao Campaign. The Environment Fair at Hyderabad saw prominent citizens of the Twin Cities plant saplings in the presence of more than 1000 children from 50 schools. The children took out an awareness march, holding banners and placards with their own slogans for saving the environment. The Fair also showcased projects by the students and included various inter-school environment based competitions like - Drawing, Fancy Dress, Extempore, Theme Dance, Street Theatre and Essay Writing.

Award time

Rosary Convent School, one of the top schools in Hyderabad, was awarded for their commitment toward showcasing critical environmental issues and spreading awareness on the subject. The prizes were distributed by Swaranjit Sen, Director General of Police, AP. Sunfeast has also launched an informative and interactive www.sunfeastharabanao.com - This website will act as a platform for children from different cities to come together and share ideas and take collective action.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Naware, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC Limited, Foods Division, said, "Sunfeast believes that children are the best harbingers of change and improvement in any society." Sunfeast also gifted the AP Police 200 pollution masks.
