Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangalore

B. Vanishree, a fifth standard student from Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangalore, was one of the 120 students from Karnataka who participated in the 13th international UC MAS ABACUS and Mental arthimetic competition. More than 3,000 students from 36 countries participated in the competition held at Kula Lumpur, Malaysia recently. At the meet, students had to complete nearly 200 sums in just five minutes. Vanishree participated in the toughest category of the tenth term, and was declared second runner up. She is the only girl from Karnataka to receive the award this year. She had trained at the Fast Arithmetic institute in the city.
