Dolphin Matric H.S. School

Dolphin Matric H.S. School premises was decorated with turmeric plants and sugarcane to create festival ambience for "Pongal". The school was filled with children's cheerful shouts "pongalao pongal." Eighteen children clad in traditional rural costume cooked Pongal and danced the "kummi".

A beautiful and resplendent rangoli measuring 36-ft-length and 12-ft-broad plantain leaf filled with pictures of pongal, coconut, banana, sugarcane, betel leaf, manjal and vegetables drawn remained the cynosure of all eyes. On "mattu pongal" day, cows were offered sugarcane and sweet pongal. The jallikattu scene enacted with Sarath Chandar as the "kaalai" (bullock) and Charan Chandar as the tamer left the audience spell-bound.
